A shared lapidary workshop works best when everyone looks after the equipment, the workspace and each other.
Our Workshop Guidelines provide members with information about safely using the workshop, caring for society equipment and sharing the space responsibly. The following is a general overview of some of the expectations outlined in the society's Workshop Guidelines book.
Core expectations
- Use equipment only after receiving the required orientation or permission from a workshop supervisor.
- Follow supervisor instructions and all posted equipment-specific procedures.
- Wear the personal protective equipment required for the task being performed.

- Keep the work area tidy and clean equipment after use.
- Report damaged, unusual or unsafe equipment immediately and do not continue using it.
- Be considerate of other members waiting to use shared equipment.
